The second event in the Spring 2024 Community Engaged Research Series will take place in Room 104 at the Illini Union on March 22 from 10 a.m. to noon. A networking lunch will follow.

During the workshop, Diane Doberneck, Director for Faculty and Professional Development in the Office for Public Engagement and Scholarship and Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Community Sustainability at Michigan State University, will discuss:

  • Key elements of community-engaged publishing
  • Writing with community partners
  • Unfurling a project into multiple publishing pieces
  • Strategizing on where to publish your work

The workshop will be followed by a networking lunch and private half-hour consultations with Dr. Doberneck for researchers to discuss their community-engaged research and publishing agendas. *Consultation slots have filled, but organizers are accepting waitlist requests.
